Quick Answer

Your responsiveness directly impacts your booking success. To ensure you never miss an inquiry or booking alert, keep your profile and contact preferences up to date. You can easily update your name, password, and profile picture in the DropDesk Spaces App or on the web portal. To change where your SMS and email notifications go, you will need to update your Contact under your Host Profile. Always make sure your listed phone number supports SMS text messaging! If you are going to be away, you can easily update the notification number under the Venue.

Why Keeping Your Profile Updated Matters

On DropDesk, speed and communication are everything. Keeping your profile current ensures smooth communication, builds stronger relationships with users, and maintains your professional presence on the platform.

Following these two profile best practices will instantly improve your guest experience:

  • Upload a clear profile picture: A welcoming photo puts a face to the space. It helps guests recognize you or your staff when they arrive, which greatly improves their in-person experience and helps secure repeat bookings.
  • Provide an SMS-enabled mobile number: You will receive real-time text alerts for booking notifications, user inquiries, and space activity. If your listed number is a landline or VOIP that cannot receive texts, you risk missing time-sensitive bookings.

Host Profile vs. Venue Contact Info: What Is The Difference?

Before you start making changes, it is important to understand the difference between your Host Profile Contact Info and your Venue's Contact settings.

1. Your Host Profile (Editable)

This represents your actual Host account. You can update these details at any time:

  • Your display name
  • Your profile picture
  • Your login password
  • Mobile Number

Your Host Profile is your personal account where you will receive confirmations and notifications. If you have a change in staff or mobile numbers have changed for any reason, you should update your Host contact info.

Important Note: For security reasons, the primary email address used to create your account cannot be edited directly within your personal profile settings (you will need to reach out to support to change this).

2. Venue Contact Info (Editable)

Venue Contact email and phone number can be updated at any time. If there is a temporary change — for example, a staff member is out of the office on that day — you can easily update the Venue Contact settings so nothing is missed.

Step-by-Step: How to View or Edit Your Profile

Updating your admin profile only takes a minute. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open your DropDesk Spaces App.
  2. Click the main menu icon.

  3. Make your desired changes (Name, Profile Picture, or Password).
